Chic travel bags today

Who says looking good while you travel is hard to achieve? From backpacks to suitcases to duffel bags, take a look at my list of some of the trendiest, yet highly functional pieces of luggage you can take with you on your next trip. Buying luggage doesn’t have to cost you an arm and leg, given that you can have the best value for your money.

Backpacks

Travel + Leisure listed as many as 15 stylish backpacks for women, but I will highlight 3 completely different designs and materials to get a good sample out of the group.

First off is the durable fabric – leather, and a classic design.

The Coach Bleecker leather backpack is great for any lady traveller, whether young or old. Coach pieces are known for their durability and style. This one’s on the pricey side at $698, but still, it’s a worthwhile investment as it can last several years.

Hedgren Vogue’s name alone oozes style. This paprika-coloured backpack is as functional as it looks. It has a hidden side pocket and the material is made of durable, water-repellent nylon. You don’t have to worry if you get caught in the rain with this stylish bag for only $39.99.

Suitcases

If you prefer your carry-on to be a stylish suitcase then some of these picks will be perfect for you.

The Bric handcrafted roller is a hybrid duffel-suitcase. This olive leather piece looks like it belongs to a runway of suitcases. Because it is handmade with high-grade materials, it is more on the expensive side though with prices ranging from $288-$480.

The iconic designer Diane von Furstenberg has her name on this Soleil Hardside Spinner. It has a gorgeous design without sacrificing quality. Made of polycarbonate, the shell is hard, but still slightly flexible, and it can be yours for $110.

Duffels

Duffels are great for short getaways or weekend trips. They’re classy, spacious and easy to carry. Elle already highlighted a few stylish weekenders among so many out there.

Mi-Pac’s floral theme is perfect for an overnight trip to the beach. And affordable as well for just $34.

This bag from Disaster Designs is named Let’s Get Realism, and will certainly appeal to artsy ladies like myself. Priced at $100.

When talking about bags, Herschel is among the most trusted names out there. This neutral-coloured Sutton Duffle will go well with almost any outfit. It’s yours for $70.

What’s very important to me is whatever luggage I decide to bring, that it matches my travel arrangements. From the airport my stuff should be easy to carry. If I will be traveling to the airport with public transport or by car lifting and pulling my luggage must always be manageable. Regardless of whether the parking lot is in between terminals such as in London Gatwick, or far away from the site. Otherwise the start of my trip and reaching my destination will already turn into a stressful and exhausting exercise.

Fortunately a lot of luggage makers today prioritize comfort and functionality in their pieces. Nevertheless I was happy to see that cool and chic designs still get integrated. My list contains some of the items that achieved a good balance between all of those essential elements.

Did I forget something and do you have your own favourite luggage pieces to add? Just tell me in the comments section below.
